Politecnico di Torino Presented EPC Data Analysis at OECD Workshop on Building Microdata

On 24 January 2025, the OECD Geospatial Lab hosted the international technical workshop “Building Data Together: Building-Related Open Microdata”, a full-day event held at the OECD Conference Centre in Paris and streamed online. The workshop brought together experts from international organisations, national statistical offices, academia, and the private sector to explore emerging opportunities in open microdata on buildings.

We are pleased to report that Marco Savino Piscitelli, from our partner institution Politecnico di Torino, contributed to the session on “Analysis and Policy Applications” with a presentation focused on use cases enabled by coupling granular data on energy and buildings. His talk highlighted the analysis of Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) datasets from an Italian region, showcasing valuable insights into how microdata can support evidence-based decision-making in the building and energy sectors.

The workshop featured contributions from leading institutions including the World Bank, UN-Habitat, European Commission, and national statistical offices, and emphasized the potential of open building-related data for policy innovation, climate action, and sustainable urban development.
